Monday of each session:
Parents and children arrive at 8:15 a.m.
Check in: Each child receives a building assignment and T-shirt.
Meeting at 8:30 a.m.: Parents/guardians attend orientation meeting with Safety Town directors and children meet their CIT teen volunteers.
Pick-up at 12:00 p.m./noon.
Tuesday - Friday of each session:
Arrive at 8:30 a.m.
Pick-up at 12:00 p.m./noon - Your promptness is appreciated. $25 fee for every 15 minutes late in picking up child.
Friday of each session is graduation:
Parents/guardians arrive at 11:30 a.m.
Students are celebrated for their participation and hard work. Graduates review what they have learned, share songs, and receive a special certificate.
The children learn and interact with their instructors and the directors with the whole group, in small groups, and individually. Each Safety Town day consists of:
Town Time when children learn and practice pedestrian rules and street safety
Lesson Time when children learn and review the safety lesson of the day
Visits from community safety professionals
Snack Time
Arts and crafts, which reinforce safety lessons
Playground Time
Instructional videos, songs, and puppet shows.
Please remember to apply sunscreen on your child prior to arrival, bring a water bottle labeled with your child's name, and have your child wear his/her Safety Town T-shirt, and closed toe shoes daily. T-shirts are issued to each child the first day of the session.
